FOUR people were evacuated in the early hours of the morning after a fire broke out in a block of flats.
Firefighters were called to Hightown in Middlewich after a door on the third floor of a property caught fire.
Crews, wearing two breathing apparatus, used one hose reel to put out the blaze and a fan to clear the smoke.
The alarm was raised shortly before 4am yesterday.
A thermal imaging camera was then used to check for any signs the fire had spread to the loft.
Everyone inside the flats were accounted for.
Residents were evacuated as a safety precaution.
Three fire engines from Middlewich, Winsford and Holmes Chapel attended the incident.
