Given that there are 340 recognised dog breeds, it’s easy to accentuate their differences.

Labradors tend to be non-confrontational, while terriers certainly can be.

Working dogs require more exercise than companion dogs. Gundogs have a highly developed sense of smell while bulldogs do not.

The variations seem endless and owners can become confused with the needs and expectations of different dogs.

Never fear Mother Nature is on hand to demonstrate that no matter how far human beings have taken dogs from their origins it is purely cosmetic.

At their core they remain the same as the day God made them. As always Mother Nature has the final say.

I hope my humble attempt at poetry will help explain.

A CRY FROM THE SOUL

I’m shiatsu, terrier, standard poodle, GSD and labradoodle, Chihuahua, springer, boxer, pug, husky, beagle, collie dog.

Each has my brain, each knows my way, each shares my blood my DNA Brothers all except in name in mother’s womb we are the same.

Every dog, no matter breed has basic needs that he must feed.

To be respected, not as a toy used by others for their joy.

To have a role within the pack, to hunt to find and bring it back.

To walk with confidence and pride, to have a leader by his side.

To tread the earth beneath his feet to feel the sun and rain and sleet In woodlands, streams and open field to hear the call of snipe and teal And stand beneath an orange moon to each his God but not too soon Let Mother Nature be his guide from her no hidden danger hides.

But who am I to know their ways whose gift within their bloodline stays?

Who reads their thoughts, their hopes, their dreams a mystery to you it seems.

My name is Jacob, Billy, Rolf I’m in your home I am...The Wolf!
