IF you have knee and/or hip pain a new rehabilitation programme could be for you.

Everybody Leisure’s ESCAPE-pain is aimed at helping you to manage your joint pain.

The funded, six-week, evidence-based rehabilitation programme, sometimes called the ‘knee or hip class’, is designed to reduce pain and disability for people with chronic joint pain or osteoarthritis.

Classes include the following; Holmes Chapel Community Centre, pre-introduction date on January 16, course runs January 21 to February 27, 1pm to 2.30pm, and Holmes Chapel Community Centre, pre-introduction date on April 24, course runs April 29 to June 12, 1pm to 2.30pm.

Over the six weeks participants will receive information, advice and support from qualified instructors to help better manage chronic joint pain and lead a more active life.

To access the programme you must be aged over 55 years, have had knee and/or hip pain for at least six months, doing less than 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise weekly, independently mobile and able to carry out regular exercise and committed to taking part in two classes a week over six weeks and returning for a final session in week 12.
