MULLED wine will warm your hands and leave you feeling festive.

Beer and Prosecco will also be flowing as revellers enjoy live music surrounded by fairylights.

That is what the party season will look like at Golden Square thanks to its Christmas Teepee which is now open in the Old Fish Market.

The specially-constructed 6.4m-tall teepee, made from waterproof canvas and a timber base, is this year’s hub for festivities at the shopping centre.

Replacing the Golden Square’s alpine style ‘Christmas village’ from previous years it will be open to shoppers and those on nights out until January 5.

From Sunday to Wednesday the teepee will be open between 12pm and 8pm and then there is more of a party atmosphere from Thursday to Sunday when the teepee will stay open until late.

There will also be live music and DJs from 5pm every Friday starting tomorrow.

Families have been kept in mind too with Santa set to make an appearance at various times , starting on Saturday, December 1.

Ian Cox, director at Golden Square, said: “This is a really exciting addition to Golden Square’s Christmas activities this year and a great first for us.

“The Christmas spirit has really kicked in here at Golden Square and, of course, we wanted to keep the excitement going.

“So this was a fantastic opportunity to introduce our Christmas Teepee to our shoppers for the first time.

“And it doesn’t stop there, as Santa will arrive on Saturday, December 1.”

“The teepee will be serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks including mulled wine, Prosecco, beer, soft drinks and more.

“So it’s a great venue to visit while out shopping or for an extra tipple after a bite to eat in Old Market Square.

“Plus, Thursday, Friday and Saturday will have late night opening, with brilliant live music and DJs from 5pm on Fridays.”
