A MUM-of-two who went from office worker to salon owner in less than a year is celebrating after her own line of false eyelashes were picked up by online shop boohoo.com.

Isobel Rushton, from Haydock, didn’t believe the email from the head buyers at the online store requesting information on her eyelashes was real.

But after a nudge from her husband Tom, she got back in touch.

Since then it has been a whirlwind journey for the 26-year-old who took over the salon on Clipsley Lane just after the birth of her second child and in less than a year designed her own line of lashes which are now available to buy on boohoo.

She said: “I used to work in an office and did not enjoy it so I started doing make up and got a part time job in a salon after having my second son.

“Then the salon owner decided to sell the salon, which wasn’t the best of times, but my husband Tom supported me and I just stopped umming and ahhing and just went for it. So after getting the salon, I was doing make up constantly and got really fed up of having to order eyelashes all the time because I didn’t like many of them.

St Helens Star:

“That’s when my husband told me to make my own, so I got in contact with a company who can make them and I designed my own reusable ones, which have been really popular.

“Our first ones were called Blush, the name of my salon, and since then we’ve got loads of different ones.”

A customer of Isobel’s got in touch with the head buyer from boohoo and the rest, as they say, is history.

Isobel added: “I would never have believed that my eyelashes would be picked up by boohoo, I keep going online and just looking at them it’s crazy.

“I’d tell people that if you put the hard work in, no matter how much of a bad time it is, then it definitely pays off.

“My house is like a little eyelash factory and my husband is the most patient man in the world, so I’m very lucky but so happy that our hard work has paid off.”

The false eyelashes were also featured in fashion magazine Cosmopolitan.
