THE Bolton Evening News reported in June, 1984 that a tight 30 degree turn from Radcliffe Road on to Maze Street, Darcy Lever, had been altered by engineers to create a proper T-junction.
The route through the village was regularly used by motorists as a short cut between Breightmet and Moses Gate, but the original tight turn had led to a spate of minor accidents. The T-junction leads into Hacken Lane.
If you look at the latest image of that row of houses, there have been a few cosmetic changes to their exteriors but the dwellings themselves are largely the same.
