PICCOLINO in Knutsford hosted a lunch for the Destination Florida Children’s Charity on Remembrance Sunday.

Destination Florida works with children who have life-threatening and life-limiting medical conditions, and their parents or guardians.

It organises eight-day biennial trips to Florida for 72 children from across the north of England.

The children have the chance to visit all the major theme parks, have time in the hotel pool, a shopping trip and watching a Cirque Du Soleil show, plus a final night party with entertainment.

“Mike Hymanson, the chairman of Destination Florida, spoke about the charity wonderfully,” said lunch organiser Janna Whitworth.

“He had got back only the day before from the 2018 trip to Florida, and said how the children had the most amazing time and the parents were so grateful for the life-changing trip.

“There was a Fair Trade pop-up boutique called It’s Good Ethical Boutique selling wonderful gifts, and children’s games were played like heads and tails and how many sweets in a jar, to win great prizes.

“Many Knutsford businesses, including Piccolino, Gusto, Lost and Found, The Courthouse, Wine and Wallop, April’s, Cottons Hotel and Spa, Mere Golf Club and Spa, The Lambing Shed, The Fox and Hounds and The White Orchard floral boutique donated fabulous raffle prizes, and a fab amount was raised for a very deserving charity.”
