JULIE Dawn Potts from the Chapel Lane Business Group has raised £180 towards the costs of maintaining and running a defibrillator in Wilmslow.

The equipment is on the wall of St Anne’s Fulshaw Primary School in Nursery Lane for the benefit of the community.

Julie said: “I offered to help raise some much-needed funds for the defibrillator through the Chapel Lane Business Group from businesses along Chapel Lane and residents to try and help St Anne’s Fulshaw PTA.

“I raised £180, which will go towards the maintenance and running costs of the defibrillator, with very kind donations from Country Home Furnishings, which gave £90 for the cost of replacing a battery and some electrodes.

“The rest of the money was made up with donations from Chelsea Flowers, Stationery Solutions and a few residents, including myself.

Liz Parris from the PTA at St Anne’s Fulshaw said: “The defibrillator was given to the school in 2014 as part of an initiative to get more defibrillators into public areas.

“The school was adamant this valuable resource should be shared with the community, not kept in the school building for use during school hours only.

“The children did a lot of fundraising, and as a result of their efforts, a small contribution from St Anne’s Church and a private donation, we were able to fulfil this desire by buying a heated cabinet to house the defibrillator. We were the first CPAD in Wilmslow.”
