ST Luke’s Church was packed for Sunday’s Remembrance service in Holmes Chapel to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War.
About 200 men, women and children took part in the parade from the health centre to St Luke’s for the service, which was relayed via a loudspeaker to the large number of people outside.
The parade was a family affair for Mike Street, who carried the Holmes Chapel Royal British Legion standard.
The parade marshal was Mike’s son David Street, who had travelled from Plymouth for the commemorations.
The Union Jack standard was carried by Mike’s son-in-law John Dooley, and Mike’s granddaughter Sophia Dooley carried the Rainbows standard.
More than 20 wreaths were laid, including ones by Malcolm Coates, chairman of Holmes Chapel RBL, and Holmes Chapel MP Fiona Bruce.
Mr Coates thanked everyone who had supported the Royal British Legion over the past two weeks.
