MOBBERLEY Primary School PTA is seeking your votes in a bid to win funding to help improve its school field.

The Friends of Mobberley PTA have been chosen by Aviva as a project to be put forward to the public voting stage for their community fund prize.

Voting ends on November 20, everyone in the UK is entitled to vote and each person has 10 votes each.

“We are hoping to win some money to help with our school field project,” said Zoe Hargreaves, chairman of Friends of Mobberley PTA.

“Our school field is very undulating with poor drainage, and we want to have new drainage put in and the field rolled, levelled and re- seeded.

“By carrying out these works we will be able to have year-round access to the field and increase the number of sports available to the children of Mobberley C of E Primary School.

“Once the works are completed we will also be able to open the field up to our local sporting community.

“We have a great local football team, Mobberley FC, who would be able to hold training and matches on the field too.

“They are run by a great team of volunteers and have a development team coming up. We would also like to be able to run more competitions between the local schools in our area.

“The school are fully committed to encouraging all pupils to take part in physical activities and we participate in a year-round ‘inclusive’ set of competitive events so that pupils with specific needs also get the opportunity to represent the school.

“Mobberley C of E Primary School are very passionate about sports, and have just won the Gold School Games Mark Award for the 2017/18 academic year, for the third year in a row.

“Headteacher Damien Stenson has introduced new sports at the school, including before school, during lunch time as well as after.”
