THE three family members killed in a horrific crash in Alderley Edge on Saunday night have now been named by police. 

Liyakat Sidat, 47, and 14-year-old Hajra Sidat died at the scene of the crash, which happened on the A34 Melrose Way shortly after midnight on Sunday. 

Salma Sidat, 41, died later in hospital. 

They were family members from the Old Trafford area of Manchester travelling together in a car with two others, when they were involved in a collision with a minibus. 

Eight other people have been injured in the crash, including the two other people travelling in the car. 

Of those injured, seven people were taken to Macclesfield District General Hospital, one man to Manchester Royal Infirmary and one child to Manchester Children's Hospital.

Cheshire Police have appealed for witnesses.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "Sadly, two people, a man aged 47 and a 14-year-old girl, died at the scene and a third, a woman aged 41, died at hospital. They were all travelling in the car.

"Two others in the car – a nine-year-old girl and a 19-year-old woman – are currently in hospital. Their respective conditions are described as critical and serious.

"The family are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.

"The family would like the media to respect their privacy and to be left to grieve in peace.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to police should contact Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 231304."
