A DIGGER was needed to help put out a large fire in Marthall early this morning, Sunday.
Firefighters were called to land off Chelford Road at 12.05am.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "One fire engine attended from Knutsford.
"Firefighters were called to a large fire on land off Chelford Road, Marthall.
"Crews used a digger to smother the fire with soil, then used a hose reel to damp down."
