BUDDING artists at Wilmslow Prep have reached the finals of The Independent School Association (ISA) Art Competition.

Pupils are celebrating after achieving success in the regional Independent School Association (ISA) Art Competition.

Three first place prizes were awarded to the school, as well as eight second place prizes.

The first place entries are being put forward to the ISA National Art Competition, which is held in November. The competition celebrates artistic achievements across 375 independent schools in England.

The first place prices were awarded to Nancy for ‘Augustus and his Smile’ Ruby for ‘London Skyline’ and Laura for ‘Optical Art Pot’.

The second place prizes were awarded to the following pupils: Emily (KS1) for ‘Owl Babies’ - Jacob/Coby (KS2) for ‘St Batholomew’s Church’ - Holly (KS1) for ‘Our School’ - Year 4 (whole class 2017/18) for ‘City Scape’ - Sienna (KS1- 2017/18) for ‘My House’ - Year 2 group (KS1) for ‘Garden Birds’ - Paige (KS2) for ‘Still Life’ - Evie (KS1- 2017/18) for ‘Owl in Flight’.

Helen Rigby, headteacher said: “We are so proud of all of our pupils who have achieved incredible results in the ISA Regional Art Competition this year.

“Art is an important part of our extended curriculum and we are very proud of the work produced, not only for this competition, but throughout the entire year.

“Our specialist art teachers, Mrs Anderson and Mrs Milne, work very hard to ensure our pupils maximise their artistic ability and we offer our congratulations to all of the students.”
