GOOSTREY Village Hall plays host on Saturday, November 17 to Nell’s Autumn Bash.

The evening is raising money for the Remembering Nell Foundation, which seeks to improve the lives and wellbeing of young people in the north west.

The foundation was set up in memory of Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School student Nell Jones, who was killed in the terrorist bomb attack at the Manchester Arena.

The evening runs from 7pm to 11.30pm, with doors opening at 6.30pm. It will feature a hot pot supper and pudding, live music from Harley ‘n’ Dutch, a charity raffle and a bar.

The foundation funded a weekend away for 18 children with disabilities who are part of the Central Cheshire Buddy Scheme.

The children visited Yorkshire for a weekend of swimming, feeding animals and playing games.

Service delivery manager at Central Cheshire Buddy Scheme, Stephanie Lawley, said: “The children and young people were very excited about the trip. They had been on the countdown asking every week since August.

“For some of the children this is their only holiday of the year and the only opportunity they have to be away with their friends.

“They had a great time playing and having fun. It helped build their independent living skills, confidence and self-esteem.

“We are very grateful to the Foundation for supporting the trip as it made a huge difference to the children’s lives.”
