BOMBAY Quay has been voted best Indian restaurant in mid Cheshire, picking up an award at the annual Curry Life Awards in London.
The restaurant opened two years ago at the redeveloped Hayhurst Quay.
The awards were presented by broadcaster Jon Snow at a Royal Lancaster Hotel ceremony on October 7.
A record-breaking 500,000 votes were cast.
Syed Belal Ahmed, editor of Curry Life Magazine, which organises the Curry Life Awards, said: “We've champ-ioned British curry cuisine for many years. Despite being hit hard by several recessions, it has managed to survive and flourish.
“There are pressing issues that need to be resolved, such as relaxing overseas work permits and a sensible discussion about spiralling business rates, but awards ceremony was about recognition and celebration of much loved British curry.”
