FIRST Responders have tasted success after a fundraiser at Booths supermarket in Knutsford.

Booths raised £800 for the Knutsford Community First Responder Trust (KCFRT) in a wine tasting event at the store.

The First Responders Trust is a dedicated team of local volunteers trained by and working with the North West Ambulance Service to preserve life and promote recovery in emergencies within a five-mile radius of Knutsford.

The money raised at the event helped to upgrade the Heartstart CPR training dummies, or ‘Little Annes’ as they are known, for the Heartstart course which is run monthly and open to all people of Knutsford and the surrounding areas.

Sal Thompson, chairman of the Knutsford Community First Responder Trust said: “We are a small dedicated team of local volunteers who aim to make Knutsford a safer place to live.

“We’re so very grateful for the support of Booths, not only in raising valuable funds to upgrade our CPR dummies, but in helping to raise the profile of our charity and the important work we do to support the local community.”

Specialist manager from Booths, Sharon Abella said: “Our heart is in the community, and we’re delighted to help support local charities in our fundraising.

“Any family in the region might find themselves in need of a first responder, and we’re keen to support their valuable work.

“Our customers enjoy our charity wine events and we’re thrilled to give something back to the communities that shop with us.”
