CAFE Ocho has fast built a reputation as one of the best places in Woolston for a bite to eat and a natter after opening just three years ago.

The Dam Lane eatery has become well known for its signature triple-decker sandwiches, particularly bestseller the 'Cuban Pete' which is loaded with spicy chicken, chorizo and jalapenos.

Other customer favourites include the super-food salad and the full English breakfast.

Former Bridgewater High School student Louise Bush runs the cafe.

She said: "We are an independent, family-run business and have been up and running since August 2015. We have a team of five full time girls and we simply specialise in great tasting home-cooked food served in warm cosy environment.

"We lived in Woolston for many years and really felt that the area would benefit from a nice place to eat, drink or takeaway and after many of years of talking about it we finally made it happen and we are so glad that we did.

"We feel ecstatic and so proud to be named the best cafe in Warrington by Guardian readers. It makes all of the hard work and long hours feel worthwhile and is great reward for our brilliant team."

Cafe Ocho is also known for its style and atmosphere and, along with quality ingredients, Louise reckons that is the secret to their success.

The 51-year-old, who lives in Stockton Heath, added: "We never compromise on our ingredients We also feel it is important to have a great vibe and atmosphere so our customers have a nice place to come to eat and drink.

"We love to create a bespoke food service where people feel they can create their own sandwiches and nothing is too much trouble.

"We'd like to say a whopping big thank you to all of our lovely customers that took the time and effort to vote for us, it means a lot to all of the crew at Cafe Ocho."
