LIBRARIES across Warrington will be celebrating National Poetry Day with an exhibition of poetry.
National Poetry Day on October 4 is a UK-wide celebration of sharing, reading, writing and enjoying poetry.
Warrington residents are being encouraged to help celebrate by submitting poems to their local library so that they can be displayed on a poet-tree.
The poem can be an original poem or a familiar favourite.
Matthew Entwistle, community librarian at LiveWire, said: “National Poetry Day is an annual celebration that gives us the opportunity to showcase our favourite poems and to inspire people to enjoy, discover and share poems.
“In celebration of National Poetry Day, we would like residents to submit poems for the exhibitions in our libraries.
"The poem can be old or new, original or a favourite.
"Everyone is invited to join in.”
To submit a poem, people should take the poem to their local library, or send the poem by email to mentwistle@livewirewarrington.org including your full name and area of residence in Warrington.
