The firm managing parking enforcement in Wirral has seen its contract renewed after it 'performed very well' with 'very few problems.'
NSL will run the council’s parking enforcement, including handing out fines, managing traffic and maintaining road safety, for the next five years, with the option of extending for a further five years after that.
As well as its staff handing out penalty charge notices, monitoring parking permits and supporting school crossing patrols, there will also be a small team of four responsible for 'strategic management' and day to day operations.
NSL already runs contracts on behalf of more than 60 local authorities and two national government organisations boasting a 'proven track record', but its agreement with Wirral was set to end on September 30.
It was said this factor allowed it to provide services at a 'lower cost and offer long term benefits and improvements to the services.'
The move will be discussed by Wirral council’s cabinet when it meets on October 1.
