RETIREES in Wilmslow enjoyed an afternoon to remember at McCarthy and Stone’s Lawson Grange, when everyone at the Retirement Living development on Holly Road North celebrated its first birthday.

Local people joined Lawson Grange homeowners and the McCarthy and Stone team in the development’s homeowners’ lounge to mark the milestone with buffet food, a personalised birthday cake and drinks.

Chef Andy Lloyd demonstrated his chocolate making masterclass, followed by homemade steak and vegetable pie and pea supper.

The afternoon was rounded off with his rock ‘n’ roll tribute, singing hits from Elvis, Neil Diamond and Bobby Darin to name a few.

Everyone also raised a glass of fizz to toast a successful first year.

Iain Skelton, house manager at Lawson Grange who helped organise the birthday celebrations, said: “It was wonderful to be able to commemorate this important first anniversary at Lawson Grange

It’s been such a memorable year; and our homeowners have, without a doubt, made Lawson Grange the thriving community it is. We look forward to celebrating many more years to come.”
