THERE will be spooky goings at what is claimed to be one of the most haunted buildings in the North of England.
In the run up to Halloween there will be a series of ghost tours at Tudor Hoghton Tower on October 24, 25 and 29.
And for those diehard fans there will be more of the same on November 9, 10, 16 and 24, which has been labelled the third most haunted house in Britain
Those attending will be accompanied by silent torchbearers who take take them on the tour of the the darkened halls of the tower, where they will encounter spectres from the past and be told of ghostly happenings from across the centuries.
Venture, if you dare, through the underground passages where footsteps from another time may echo alongside your own where you might see a black dog who haunts the Well House, say organisers.
Or greet angry Pete, or stare into the painting where mysterious faces may reveal themselves, is the claim.
Included in the package is a two-course meal of either cottage pie, or a vegetarian lasagne, and then for dessert, sticky toffee pudding in butterscotch sauce.
Ensure that you wear warm clothing and sensible shoes as there are uneven steps, staircases and very cold underground passages!
Doors open from 5.30pm and food is served at 6pm followed by the tour. This event is best for those aged 13 and up.
Hoghton Tower Ghost Tours Tickets are priced at £32 per person.
