VOLUNTEERS and staff who work for a variety of Bolton charities were able to put their feet up and enjoy an away day trip to Chester.

It was all thanks to Bolton based Atlantic Travel, who provided free coach to and from the Roman city, a buffet lunch and a cruise along the River Dee.

The management at the travel firm provided made a similar generous gesture two years ago when they sent charity staff for a day trip to Port Sunlight and to Cheshire Oaks.

The staff were waved off by travel director Abdul Dean and other members of the firm’s management.

Aboard the bus, volunteers and staff were accompanied by the Mayor of Bolton, Elaine Sherrington and Honorary Alderman John Finch.

This year’s mayoral charities are Bolton Lads and Girls Club, Bolton Hospice, Bolton Young Person’s Housing Scheme and Fortalice.
