A PAIR of Bolton’s top curry houses are hoping for success at this year’s English Curry Awards.
Both Spice Island, in Tonge Moor Road, and Spice Valley, Horwich, are up for awards, at the event, held on September 17.
Spice Valley, recently under new management, will be looking to win the best restaurant category in the North West, while Spice Island has been shortlisted for the third time in three years in the best takeaway category.
Spice Valley, co-owner, Sanjeev Muttra said: “This is a big achievement for us. We have worked so hard to be there and I’m really pleased.
“I want to thank our customers because they have given us so much and helped us to get to the final.
“We couldn’t have done it without them and I’m looking forward to going to the awards.”
A spokesman for Spice Island added: “Our family run business has been serving the good people of Bolton our traditional style Bangladeshi cuisine from 1995.
“We won the awards in 2016 in the same category and were finalists again in 2017.
“We are proud to be representing Bolton at such a prestigious national event for three years in a row and we thank all our customers who voted for us.
“Even if we don’t win, we will still be serving our award-winning dishes with all our love, hard work and skill as we always do.”
The 8th edition of the annual black-tie awards ceremony will be held in Dudley at the Copthorne Hotel Merry Hill.
