A MAN was rescued by firefighters after becoming stuck in mud.

Four fire engines attended the incident and found that a man had become stuck in mud while he was walking near to the River Bollin.
Firefighters stabilised the man to ensure he didn't sink any further.
Crews then used a rope rescue kit to free the man.
The team were at the scene for around one hour.
