INDIAN restaurant Mughli has closed its Knutsford branch.
The King Street restaurant is leaving town, citing 'staffing difficulties and rising costs'.
A statement signed off by ‘the Mughli family’ to 'our dearest Knutsford family and friends' announced the closure after 17 years.
It said: “It comes with great sadness that we today announce the closure of Mughli Bar and Kitchen.
“Despite our best efforts, staffing difficulties and rising costs in an already difficult climate mean that it is no longer viable for us to remain open in the village.
“Our Manchester restaurant remains unaffected and will continue to serve our signature Mughlai cuisine and street food as usual.
“We would like to pass on a special thanks to our customers and regulars who became friends over the years, those who joined us each week or recommended us to others, as well as to our dedicated staff and suppliers, both current and throughout our 17-year journey here in Knutsford.
“We wouldn’t be where we are without you, and for that we will be eternally grateful.
“We also wish our successor the very best in what is and will continue to be a wonderful village. We will miss it and you all dearly."
