CLIENTS past and present are invited to join in special celebrations at Guys Barbershop in Knutsford next weekend.

The Canute Place business opened in 1978, and will be marking its 40th anniversary next Saturday.

People are invited to call in from 2pm to enjoy a drink and nibbles with business owner Daniel Belcher and his father and staff.

The business was started by Daniel’s father David, 73, who is still involved, and comes in two days a week.

Daniel, 38, has been involved in the business for 15 years, and will be joined next Saturday by his father, sister Nicky, who works part-time at Guys, and Daniel’s six-year-old son Nathaniel.

“Anyone who would like to come down on the day will be very welcome to call in,” said Daniel.

“We just wanted to say thank you to everyone for their support and loyalty over the years.

“People can call in from 2pm until closing time next Saturday and enjoy a complimentary cold beer or soft drink and nibbles, with sweets for the children.

“Guys is very much a community-based family environment where people are able to relax.

“We like to look after people and to know they feel better about themselves after coming to see us.

“We are a small traditional, authentic business, cater for generations of clients, and offer good customer service, good haircuts and good value.”

The family has signed a new 10-year lease, and is looking forward, in Daniel’s words, to ‘snipping into our fifth decade’.

He added: “I trained in Manchester but have learned so much from working with my dad. He is so hard-working, has such a big personality and loves people and looking after them.”

Working with Dan is supervisor Matthew Ogden, who Dan said was a valuable member of the team.
