DRIVERS had lucky escapes after a three-vehicle collision in Holmes Chapel this morning, Friday.

The collision happened in Marsh Lane, and involved two cars and a tractor.

Fire crews were called just after 8.20am and found one of the cars on its side in the road.

The other car had collided with a brick building at a farm at the side of the road.

Despite the severe damage to the cars the women drivers suffered only minor injuries.

The driver of the car which collided with the building was trapped in her car, and was freed by firefighters using cutting equipment.

The A54 was closed while crews worked at the scene, and a cordon was set up.

Fire engines from Holmes Chapel, Sandbach and Congleton attended.
