CARE home Sharston House is celebrating after scoring success in inaugural awards.
Sharston House in Knutsford is part of the Kingsley Healthcare group, which has 30 homes across the country, including five in the north west.
The Mere Golf Resort and Spa in Knutsford was the venue for the company’s first North West Care Awards, with Sharston House winning the care home of the year title.
The home collected a trio of accolades at the event, with Sally Mault winning the care home business support champion award and Jill Millard the chef of the year title.
In his opening speech, Kingsley founder and chief executive officer Daya Thayan said: “We are proud to have established Kingsley Healthcare as a familiar and trusted brand in the north west, running care homes that are truly at the heart of their communities.
“Our staff are at the heart of everything we do and with their dedication, commitment and professionalism I am confident we can continue to grow the Kingsley brand across the region.”
Kingsley’s North West regional director Ian Smallwood said he was immensely proud to have joined the Kingsley family after a long and varied career in health care.
He said the commitment shown by all staff reflected Mr Thayan’s personal ethos that every home had to be good enough for their own parents.
“I believe this is apparent in all of our care homes here in the north west,” he said.
Following a champagne reception, those attending enjoyed a three-course lunch and entertainment from magician Ben Hanlin, star of ITV2’s Tricked!, who hosted the awards.
Jayne O’Sullivan, from Park Lane Care Home, in Congleton, took the manager of the year title.

Registered nurse of the year, Lisa Litchfield, of Four Oaks Care Home, in Partington.
Support worker of the year, Joseph Hutchinson, of Timperley Care Home.
Activities coordinator of the year, Estelle Felstead, of Timperley.
Maintenance person of the year, Simon Smith, of Four Oaks/ Timperley.
Care home support services champion, Nicola Wagster, of Four Oaks.
Rising Star, Vicki Roberts, Four Oaks.
