POLICE are hoping to find the owners of a number of stolen powertools, recovered last week.

Officers at Cheshire Police Taskforce are asking anyone who recognises the tools, some of which are labelled JLC and PMC, get in touch.

They posted on Twitter: "A number of power tools that are suspected to be stolen were recovered last Wednesday.

"We are trying to trace the owners so if you recognise any of the following please get in touch via 101 and quote IML33706.

"Some of these tools are labelled 'JLC' and 'PMC'. #hereforyou"

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "At around 6.30pm on Wednesday, April 11 officers stopped a vehicle on the M6 southbound between junctions 17 and 18.

"They conducted a search of the vehicle and found a large quantity of power tools in the boot.

"As part of ongoing investigations officers are appealing to the public to help trace the owner or owners of the power tools.

"Some of the tools are labelled ‘JLC’ and ‘PMC’.

"Anyone who recognised the tools is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 33706."
