IF you go down to Sunrise of Mobberley on Saturday, April 21 you’re sure of a big surprise.

Sunrise is to celebrate National Care Home Open Day by opening to visitors on that day from 2pm to 4pm and hosting a teddy bear’s picnic and musical.

To celebrate the special day, the Sunrise community will be hosting an open house, with a celebratory teddy bear’s picnic and a Goldilocks and the Three Bears musical taking place from 2pm to 2.30pm.

Visitors are welcome to bring their favourite bear and join in, and afterwards enjoy ‘high tea’ with traditional sandwiches, fairy cakes and a glass of champagne.

The open house from 10am to 5pm will also give visitors the opportunity to meet the Sunrise team and talk with residents about their Sunrise experiences.

The National Care Home Open Day – in its sixth year – encourages care homes to open their doors to celebrate a different theme each year, with a few key values at its heart: friendship, making connections and celebrating older and vulnerable people.

This year the theme is celebrating care homes’ links with their local area, and for the first time the event is being held on a weekend.
