POPULAR community pub The Crown Inn has reopened after having a major makeover costing at least £100,000.

The Marston’s pub in Main Road, Goostrey, has undergone a refurbishment to ‘breathe new life’ into the village inn.

A Marston’s spokesman said: “A six-figure investment from Marston’s Inns and Taverns has allowed the pub to undergo a complete transformation, which includes an updated modern interior alongside a new menu which encourages a more relaxed dining experience.

“Extending the welcome to their customers four-legged friends, the main bar area is now dog-friendly to encourage a relaxed community feel.

“The separate restaurant area and lounge is perfect for enjoying a selection of bar meals to main meals of the new menu.

“The pub, which was closed for just under a month for the refurbishment, gave the opportunity for the team to roll their sleeves up and get involved in a pop-up pub at Goostrey Scout Hut, with all profits being donated to the Scouts to support the upkeep of their building.”

Jason Camilleri, Crown Inn manager said: “The Crown Inn is a really great pub with community at its heart.

“We knew we had an opportunity to get the team involved with a local club while the pub was being refurbished, so we put our heads together and came up with the ‘pop-up pub’.

“It was a huge success, and everyone got to benefit from it.”

Ioan Eyton-Jones, area operations manager for Marston’s Inns and Taverns said: “We’re extremely excited for the Crown Inn.

“This new refresh has breathed a new lease of life into the pub for our customers, and we are looking forward to the next chapter here.”
