TATTON MP Esther McVey visited a local tomato grower to see one of the range of farming businesses in her constituency.
Ms McVey visited Frank Rudd and Sons at Over Peover, where Chris Rudd, a partner in the business, showed her how the operation has expanded.
The visit followed a meeting at The Whipping Stocks pub with members of Knutsford NFU, at which members raised a number of local farming issues with their MP.
“The meeting went very well,” said Liz Lawrence, NFU senior group secretary for the Knutsford office.
“Esther took on board the issues which the farmers raised with her, and was very supportive.
“She assured us that she would come back with responses to the questions which were raised.”
Knutsford NFU has an annual meeting with the Tatton MP, and the latest was the second with Ms McVey.
