A REWARD of up to £2,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of Henry Thomas Henderson, 51, who is wanted in connection with a serious assault on Newport Street in Ryde, Isle of Wight, back in 2016.

It is believed that Henderson left the area following the assault and travelled to Wilmslow in February 2017.

The attack happened between 11.30pm and midnight on Tuesday, November 22 2016, when a 51 year-old man was assaulted. He was admitted to hospital for injuries to his face and leg, and later released following treatment.

Henderson, from Downsview in Sandown, is described as white and 5ft 11 inches tall. He has a slim build, a Scottish accent, and it believed to have short, straight, dark brown hair.

Recent intelligence suggests that he may have now left the UK and a European Arrest Warrant has been applied for as part of efforts to locate him.

The reward for information is being offered through the charity Crimestoppers.

Annabelle Goodenough, south eastern regional manager of Crimestoppers, said: “This attack has shocked the Isle of Wight community and left the victim requiring hospital treatment for his injuries. Everyone has a right to feel safe from crime and this type of assault is very distressing.

“Someone will know where Henry Henderson is and if that’s you, we urge you to contact our charity and tell us what you know. You will remain 100% anonymous. Always. Please help keep our community safe. Nobody will ever know you spoke to us.”
