AN architect company in Wilmslow has been shortlisted for a prestigious award for the second year in a row for their work on a restaurant in the Ribble Valley.

Fasciato Architects have been nominated for the RICS 2018 Award for their design of the Artisan RV Restaurant and Bar.

Fasciato were approached to transform the old hotel restaurant to create a standalone, contemporary restaurant and bar with private dining, roof terrace and outdoor covered dining.

Lead architect Chris Hymas said: “The challenge of the project was taking an old hotel in need of a complete transformation and turning it into a modern, high-end restaurant.

“We spent a lot of time working closely with the clients to develop a concept, finishes and decoration resulting in a cool and fresh dining and drinking venue.”

As well as the new look, the group had to meet the criteria of how the restaurant would work economically as there was ‘a lot of to-ing and -fro-ing’ when it came to budget.

However, the nomination of the RICS award will hopefully reassure the owners that the investment in the new restaurant is set to pay off, especially as one of the aims of the new restaurant is to fund further regeneration of the hotel.

This is the second year in a row Fasicato has been shortlisted for the award. Last year they were nominated for a new build house in Cheshire.
