POLICE investigating allegations of fraud at a former Knutsford car dealership are appealing for anyone with concerns to come forward.

The extensive investigation into VIP Car Sales Ltd, in Mereside Road, began last March and has seen scores of people contact police.

Two people were arrested and released under investigation, and the company entered liquidation in April.

Det Insp Claire Jesson, who is leading the Operation VIP investigation, said: “Enquiries in relation to this investigation are currently ongoing.

"This is an extremely complex and in-depth investigation which involves a large number of victims from across the UK.

“So far we have been contacted by in excess of 80 people in relation to the company and officers are working tirelessly to progress these.

“As part of the ongoing enquiries officers have conducted a number of interviews and arrested two people; they both remain released under investigation at the current time.

“I urge anyone who believes that they may have been a victim, or anyone who has any concerns, to email the investigation mailbox operation.vip@cheshire.pnn.police.uk and officers will respond to your enquiry as soon as possible.”
