CAN you help Wilmslow’s very own ‘Wise Man’ search for his missing Christmas star?

Then join the search around Wilmslow town centre in the Wilmslow Methodist Church Star Trail.

One of Wilmslow’s amateur astronomers wants to go and visit baby Jesus, but has lost the star he was following in the sky.

He has heard that it might have gone into different shops along Water Lane, Grove Street and Alderley Road.

“There are 14 stars to find, and anyone taking part can pick up a form from the participating shops or from the church and find the names of all the stars and write them in the appropriate boxes on the form,” said family and outreach worker Emma Coe.

“You can find all the star names just for fun, or if you would like to enter the prize draw return the completed form to the church to be entered into the draw, which will take place on Christmas Eve at the Christingle service.”

The multi-coloured stars have been knitted, sewn or crocheted, and have been placed in independent shops, either in the window or the shop itself.

“The trail is a way of trying to get people to engage with the Christmas story, and is aimed at the young and the young at heart,” added Emma.

“It’s a bit of fun for Christmas, and we hope it will increase footfall in the local businesses.

“I tried to choose independent shops for the trail, and everyone I asked said they would love to take part.

The trail runs from Monday, December 4 until Saturday, December 23. The Christingle service is at 4pm on Christmas Eve.

New automatic entrance doors have been installed at the church. There is plenty of room between the doors to accommodate a pushchair or wheelchair. Both doors will not open at the same time - keeping draughts out and toddlers in.
