A BUDDING designer has reached the final of a competition to create an eyecatching bike helmet.
Eight-year-old Charlotte Cassidy, from Alderley Edge, is one of three youngsters to reach the final of the Fuchs Silkolene and Cycle-Smart competition ahead of next month’s Tour of the Potteries cycle event.
The Alderley Edge School for Girls pupil’s design features a weather theme, with rainbows, lightning, stars and the sun.
Sally Travis, marketing manager at Fuchs, said: “We received some fantastic entries to our Design a Helmet competition and it was a really tough task picking out three finalists.
“Charlotte did a great job in making her design standout with some very bright colours. Well done Charlotte and good luck in the final.
“This has been a fun competition to encourage children to be creative. But there is an important message too – it’s absolutely crucial that kids wear a helmet when they are out and about on their bikes.”
The winning child will receive their helmet as a real product, as well as an exciting bike stunt show at their school.
