THE family of a man who died following a hit and run collision in Holmes Chapel last Friday has paid tribute to him.
Brian Bailey, 77, from Holmes Chapel, died following the incident outside the library in London Road at 6.30pm on Friday, March 17.
In a statement issued by Chehsire Police, Mr Bailey's family said: "Brian was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
"He was a quiet man who kept himself to himself, but was a funny character who was well loved and known in his village of Holmes Chapel.
"Brian enjoyed his garden, collecting war memorabilia and looking after his jack Russell Roxy."
Police are continuing with their enquiries and continue to appeal for any information from witnesses.
On Saturday, a 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. He has subsequently been bailed pending further enquiries.
