KNUTSFORD Colour Run has announced its 2017 return, with the popular event taking place on Sunday, May 14.

Knutsford Sports Club will host the event, which will once again raise money for Knutsford Tennis Club and the Scouts and Guide groups across the town.

Last year more than 500 people turned out to be doused in paint as they raced, or walked around the kilometre course.

Louise Nanda, co-organiser of the event, which is now in its second year, said: “So far with grants and fund raising events like this, Knutsford Tennis Club have been able to upgrade five out of seven courts, securing the facilities for all the people of Knutsford for many years to come. And we aren’t stopping there, we are aiming to replace all seven courts.

“The local Scouts and Guides are also self-funded groups who rely on local events to ensure their facilities are available for young people for many years to come. We are delighted that every sponsor who was involved last year has joined us again for this hippest and happiest event and we are looking for more local businesses to come forward as sponsors and to get involved.”

Once again Clare & Illingworth Optometrists will be the main sponsor of the event in conjunction with Nikon lenses, with additional support from businesses including Sheldons Dairies, Anytime Fitness, Redwood Hire, Toni & Guy and Stirling Lloyd.

The route will start at Knutsford Sports Club in Mereheath Lane, going around the outskirts of the cricket pitch then to Knutsford Football Club and back round to finish at the sports club.

Registration is £15 for adults, £10 for children under 16 and £42 for a family of two adults and two children.
