CHESHIRE Fire and Rescue is urging motorists to take extra care as high winds are predicted to hit county tomorrow.
The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for Friday, February 3, and drivers are being urged to check road conditions before they travel and drive accordingly.
A spokesman at Cheshire Fire and Rescue said: “Drivers should be extra careful when driving on exposed routes such as bridges or high open roads and are encouraged to find alternative routes where possible.
“Drivers of high-sided vehicles, caravans and motorbikes are advised to take extra care when travelling due to the increased risk of vehicles being blown over.
“We advise drivers to slow down and be aware of side winds and be particularly conscious of the dangers posed by debris that may have blown into the roadway.”
The fire service recommends motorists leave extra time for their journey if travel conditions are poor, and to consider delaying their journey if the weather becomes severe.
