LONGRIDGE and Shaw Heath residents are being invited to take part in a series of walks aimed at exploring Tatton Park.
This Saturday, January 21, sees Tatton Park re-launching their programme of ‘Footpaths to Fitness’ walks for 2017 with a family fun day at the Welcome café in Longridge. All activities are free and include a climbing wall and prize draw and refreshments are also included.
The event runs from 11am until 3pm and will give lots of opportunities to win prizes plus allowing people to book onto the walks of their choice – the first of which is the popular deer walk on Saturday, January 28.
There are eight different walks in the programme ranging from nature trails to farm walks and a folklore-based stroll around Dairy Wood.
All are free and include transport into the park from the Welcome Café plus a refreshments voucher for Tatton’s Stables restaurant
Flora the Explorer, pictured, is one of the guides who will be taking people walking around the park as part of the programme. Flora was introduced to customers at the Welcome Café in Longridge.
A spokesman for Tatton Park said: “The walks are aimed at introducing people, young and old, to the health and social benefits of walking - the gentlest form of exercise, especially when done in the beautiful surroundings of Tatton’s extensive parkland and gardens.”
Posters and leaflets giving online booking information are available throughout Longridge and Shaw Heath or people can call Tatton Park enquiries on 01625 374400.
