A POPULAR Styal community store has been given the green light for refurbishment.
Earlams, in Altrincham Road, has been granted planning permission by Cheshire East Council to provide additional seating at the existing café.
The centre also wants to erect new disabled toilets, and a single storey extension to replace existing temporary outdoor shelters.
Accessibility to the store will also be improved by adding entry through the side extension with a either a flush threshold or ramp.
The application had been given support by Styal Parish Council at a meeting on Monday, August 15.
Jan Dickson, of the Earlams café team, said: “It’s important that businesses like ourselves show they are aware of accessibility issues, and it’s also important that people with accessibility issues can use all parts of Earlams.
“We want Earlams to be as accessible as possible for anyone who visits it.”
