FIREFIGHTERS in Wilmslow will be getting the soap and bucket out this weekend for a worthy cause.
Wilmslow Fire Station, in Altrincham Road, is hosting its second charity car wash of the year from 11am to 3pm on Sunday, October 2.
The event is part of a national campaign organised by the Fire Fighters Charity to raise money for residential centres and spread awareness of the positive difference it makes to the Fire and Rescue community.
This weekend’s event, organised by Charlie Watch, follows Delta Watch’s car wash in March which raised £673.93.
Ben Wood, crew manager responsible for organising the event, said: “Over the years, the Fire Fighters Charity has helped hundreds of thousands of retired firefighters, fire personnel and members of their families.
“They are an asset to every firefighter and their loved ones and we are so proud to be supporting them.
“If you fancy getting your car cleaned for an excellent cause on Sunday please come along. You’ll be helping to raise money for an incredible cause, not to mention driving away in a very shiny car!”
