WILMSLOW town councillors have warned against overdevelopment in the town’s park areas.
The town’s planning committee made the comment while recommending refusal to Cheshire East Council for an application to demolish one two-story dwelling construct two two-story dwellings at 49 Carrwood Road at a planning meeting on Monday, August 22.
Councillors criticised the application, citing its contradiction to the Pownall Park planning guidance, which was issued in 2004 by the former Borough of Macclesfield council.
Cllr Angela McPake, town councillor for Wilmslow West, said: “I cannot see how this development could fit in – it is contrary to the guidance.”
Cllr Yvonne Warren, town councillor for Wilmslow West, added: “We should object to this to set a precedent – we’re saying what we believe.”
