FOOD lovers are being urged to head down to Knutsford's stately home this weekend.

The Foodies Festival, one of the highlights of Cheshire's culinary calendar, comes to Tatton Park from July 15 to 17.

This year's festival sees 2016 MasterChef winner Jane Devonshire and the region's culinary masters cooking live in the Aga Rangemaster Chefs Theatre, showcasing their skills, sharing insight into 2016’s food trends and answering questions from the audience.

Knutsford chef Dave Mooney, from New Moon Pub Company and Aiden Byrne from the Church Green in Lymm will also be in attendance.

Things to do for guests include visits to a drinks theatre, street food avenue, artisan producers market, vintage tea room theatre, childrens cookery school and a chili eating competition.

Sue Hitchen, festival director, told the Guardian: "We are really excited to be back at Tatton Park this weekend with this year's MasterChef champion Jane, who you will find cooking her favourite recipes in the Chefs Theatre alongside top local chefs including David Mooney and Aiden Byrne.

"We also have a huge selection of street food available and over 100 artisan producers will be with us showcasing their award-winning products (the orange gin is a must-try).

"There's live music, champagne masterclasses, chilli eating competitions and a giant Pimm's Teapot and Rum Ship serving cocktails - it's going to be a feast of foodie fun!"
