THE Warrington Guardian is launching a Design a Football Shirt competition to tie in with Euro 2016, which is open to primary school pupils across the town.

There are two age groups - four to seven, and eight to 11 - and the winners in each category will receive a family pass for Gulliver’s theme park and a family pass for Blue Planet Aquarium.

Plus the overall winner will secure a fantastic team football kit for their school to the value of £350, courtesy of Martin Dawes, as well as a signed shirt and two season tickets for Warrington Town Football Club.

The best designs will feature in a special supplement on June 2, with readers then given the chance to vote for their favourite.

Editor Hayley Smith said: "This is a great opportunity for schools to demonstrate the artistic talents of their pupils and be in with the chance of winning a fantastic team kit.

"We hope as many children as possible are encouraged to get involved and look forward to showcasing their designs."

Shirt templates are being sent to schools across the town this week, or you can email maureen.friday@nqnw.co.uk for a copy.

The closing date for entries is Friday, May 6 and usual Newsquest rules apply at newsquest.co.uk/terms.
