KNUTSFORD'S best and worst GP practices have been revealed.

Surgeries in the Knutsford area have been ranked as part of a new patient satisfaction survey.

The GP Patient Survey has rated Chelford Village Surgery on Elmstead Road as the top practice in the area with a 96 per cent happiness rating, while The Health Centre in Holmes Chapel came bottom of the table in east Cheshire with a rating of just 78 per cent.

Toft Road scored 91 per cent, with Annandale and Manchester Road both polling 93 per cent when it came to overall satisfaction.

The area’s GP surgeries are looked after by the Eastern Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group, which includes practices in Congleton, Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Macclesfield and Poynton.

The England-wide survey provides practice-level data about patient experiences of their GP practices, measuring their experiences of waiting times, care quality, opening times, making appointments and out of hours services.

A total of 2,550 people took part in the survey across the Eastern Cheshire CCG patch.

Holmes Chapel scored 53 per cent when it came to saying how easy it was in getting an appointment on the phone with the Eastern Cheshire average being 71 per cent.

Chelford was the highest with 95 per cent.

But Toft Road scored a low 61 per cent, with Manchester Road polling 88 per cent and Annandale 87 per cent.

When it comes to the success in getting an appointment, Chelford once again came out on top with a 96 per cent rating.

Holmes Chapel was the lowest with 83 per cent, while Toft Road and Annandale both scored 91 per cent and Manchester Road 87 per cent.

The average for the CCG area was 89 per cent.

In Eastern Cheshire an encouraging 94 per cent of residents had confidence and trust in their GP. Manchester Road polled 99 per cent, Toft Road 97 per cent and Annandale 96 per cent.

Chelford scored 96 per cent, while Holmes Chapel picked up a healthy 89 per cent.

However, residents’ confidence and trust in nurses wasn’t as positive, with 83 per cent satisfied with them in Southern Cheshire and 82 per cent in Vale Royal.
