THE November meeting was taken up by the usual business of the AGM.

Ann Turnock and Joyce Mason from Goostrey WI acted as tellers in the voting for the president. Shirley Britten was voted in for another year.

The majority of the committee stays the same with the exception of Jacquey Sutton who is standing down as minute secretary Pat Ingram read out the annual report. Shirley read the Presidents report and Thelma Carter read the financial statements.

There are several events to look forward to this month including the Thanksgiving service in Chester Cathedral, a rail trip to Liverpool and of course the Christmas dinner.

Some time ago Jodrell Side gave a contribution to a group of Girl Guides who were venturing abroad to spread the ethos of Guiding. The girls sent us reports on their adventures. These were read out by Pat Howitt and Pat Alston.

Those at the group meeting were entertained by Chris Knight who gave a very amusing insight into clearing out the home of an elderly relative. Pat Howitt provided us with a quiz which was won by Mary Phillips, Helen Powell and Gina Houghton. Raffle prizes were won by Pat Hurdle, Jean Alcock, Geraldine Widd and Jeanette Howel.

There was a very special birthday this month. We all sang Happy Birthday to Blanche Tomkys on the occasion of her 99th birthday.
