A KNUTSFORD-based pub company will open a 'New York-style' bar in the heart of Knutsford by mid November.

The New Moon Pub Company, led by Paul Newman and Dave Mooney, agreed a deal this week to open the 'Bronx Bar' in the unit formerly known as 'A La Turka' on Princess Street.

It will serve cocktails and craft beers as well being home to a 'pizzetta', serving individual 'quirky-style' pizzas.

The unit itself has had a mixed past over the past few years.

'A La Turka' closed in late August and before that it was known as Bar 21.

But after agreeing a deal with its owner Star Pubs and Bars, Dave told the Guardian he hoped to open up the doors on November 15.

"It's a bit like the Red Cow (now The Old Sessions House) in the respect of what it was," he said.

"But Top Street is where it's at.

"It just shows what the street has to offer and it is great to see another redundant building taken on by the New Moon Co and it's very exciting.

"I don't drink cocktails at all but I've seen them and they are going to be fantastic."
