A MOBBERLEY mum was shaking and juicing last weekend after opening the doors of her new juice bar in the centre of Knutsford.

Helen Broomhead’s The Shed offers healthy drinks and super food salads as well as gluten-free cakes and brownies and with shakes called 'Knuts about Protein' and 'Keith Lemon' the business is set to be a huge success.

The modern-looking organic shed on Minshull Street is made of wood and corrugated iron and all the materials have been upcycled.

It offers a retro, chill out room at the back of the shop where customers can listen to music or make use of the wifi on comfy sofas with paintings from up and coming artists featuring on the walls.

Helen, who is a mum of four, said: “My friend and I talked about opening a juice bar over a few drinks one evening and the next morning I decided it was a great idea.

“I’ve tried lots of different juices myself over the years and The Shed will be a family affair as all four of my children will be working here.”

Everything at the juice bar is made to order using fresh, organic fruits and vegetables and Helen offers a takeaway service as well as delivery to local offices over lunch.

She said: “Our gluten-free products are from Marianne Evans at MummyBakes and eventually we will serve gluten-free pancakes and organic soups and fruit teas.”

There will be eight juices and eight smoothies that are on the menu every day with a new special featuring every two days.

Extra protein supplements can be added on request and specialities will include drinks for before or after a workout as well as those aimed at combatting minor ailments such as headaches.

The Shed will be open six days a week, 8.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday, and 10.30am to 3.30pm on Saturdays. More information is available by visiting theshedknutsford.com or on Twitter @shedknutsford
